Abstract: | When interpreting the material, we have to take into account the history of writing, to which the ulterior appearance of the notebook is connected to, meaning the material support on that it is written. In Europe, in antiquity, the languages used for writing were Greek and Latin. We have to start from these two big cultural languages in our research for denominations regarding the term “notebook”. Motivations give us the sememes of the word notebook, meaning ‘object made of paper (bark at its origin)’; ‘folded’, ‘bundle’; ‘on which it is written (signed)’. |
