Abstract: | [Brand names: detergents] Detergent names follow the model conventionally created in the onomastics of commercial products. More or less transparent but with certain expressiveness, the names created by the manufacturer suggest the high quality of the products in order to make the consumer purchase them. Detergent names are based on such variables as structure, semantics and origin. Many of them are compounds. Others are related to the metaphorical meaning of some elements of the common lexis, of Latin origin or proper names with biblical resonance. |
