In one of his seminal works Roger T. Bell states that translators should draw up journals reflecting their translation experiences. Bell also suggests that professional translators consult these journals for practical purposes and use them for instructing and training translators [Bell, R. T., Teoria şi practica traducerii, traducere de Cătălina Gazi, Iaşi, Editura Polirom, 2000, p. 57]. The author of the present paper takes into account Bell’s thoughts and intends to point out some specific aspects connected with the translator’s work. Some of the author’s translation experiences generated by the translation into Romanian of Dunno on the Moon, the third volume of Nosov’s trilogy (Translation from Russian by Sanda Misirianţu. Ilustration by Silvia Olteanu. Bucharest: Humanitas Publishing House, 2013, 432 pages), have been selected and described in the paper.
