Abstract: | [Caesar – Historia inornata] The main purpose of this paper is to identify the elements which constitute, in Caesar’s texts, a deliberate and elaborate stylistics of objectivity. We take as a startpoint the antique testimonies, especially those belonging to Cicero, who stated that Ceasar’s style was an ornated one. This literary strategy, dictated by non-literary reasons, has as a result an historia inornata, contrary to the Ciceronian precepts regarding historia exornata as opus maxime oratoriae. |
