Abstract: | This paper analyses descriptively and theoretically the scope of clitic climbing in Catalan varieties. Dialectal data presented show a new extension of this phenomenon, which lies beyond the traditionally so-called restructuring class. Furthermore, the linguistic facts observed seem to indicate the existence of an ongoing syntactic change promoted by young speakers. Ultimately, microsyntactic data support the assumption that CC triggering verbs involve a bi-clausal structure headed by a Cdef/Tdef embedded domain. |
